Knife Sharpening at TOMME: Thur, Aug 6
Drop off by the end of the day Thursday, August 6. Your knives will be sharpened and ready Friday afternoon, August 7.
Who
Anyone with a hardworking kitchen knife that has lost its edge. Kitchen knives, serrated knives, scissors, and most other edged kitchen tools are welcome.
What
A chance to give your everyday knives a proper edge again. If you're unsure whether something can be sharpened, bring it along and ask.
Why
A dull knife is way more dangerous than a sharp one. It requires more pressure, making it more likely to slip with more force behind it when it does.
A sharp knife cuts cleanly, goes where aim it, and makes cooking so much more enjoyable.
When
Drop off by 6 PM on Thursday. We'll email you when your knives are ready to collect Friday afternoon.
Where
Drop off and collect your knives at TOMME Cheese Shop.
How
Bring your knives safely wrapped in a kitchen towel or protected in a sheath. Sharpening costs $1.60 per inch of blade, so a standard 8-inch chef's knife costs about $13. Serrated blades cost 1.5-2x more because they require additional work.
Bonus
Bring in three or more knives for sharpening and receive a $5 ticket to use toward any cheese in the shop. Use it the same day or save it for when you return to pick up your freshly sharpened knives. One ticket per customer; cheese only.
Drop off Thursday. Sharp and ready Friday.
