Why can’t you bring in Vacherin Mont d’Or this year?
The CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) has temporarily restricted the import of raw-milk cheeses from several European countries due to a cattle disease outbreak.
This restriction was put in place to protect Canadian cattle herds. While it originally applied only to raw-milk cheeses from France and Italy, the ban was recently expanded to include Switzerland, which is why Vacherin Mont d’Or is now affected.

What are the retail prices of the replacement cheeses?
Vacherin Jura retails for $44.95.
Langres retails for $32.95.
Why is Jura so much less expensive than Mont d’Or?
Vacherin Jura is less than half the size of a Mont d’Or wheel. It’s made in a similar style but sold in a smaller format, which naturally brings the price down.
Are you really supposed to pour sparkling wine on Langres?
Yes! Langres has a natural “well” at the top. Traditionally, Champagne, Crémant, or another sparkling wine is poured over it just before serving.
Will my TOMME store credit expire?
No. Any store credit issued as part of your replacement choice does not expire and can be used on anything in the shop—online or in-store.

What about the shipping fee I already paid?
If you choose a replacement option that we ship to you, your original shipping fee will be applied to that delivery.
If you choose store credit or refund instead of a shipped replacement, your shipping fee will be added to your credit or refunded along with your $84.50.
