Canada has banned many unpasteurized cow and buffalo milk cheeses from Switzerland, France, Spain, Greece & Italy, due to a cattle-disease outbreak.
This affects the availability of favourites including Brie de Meaux, Morbier, Tomme de Savoie, Vacherin Mont d'Or, and Tête de Moine.
We'll bring back these cheeses the moment we can, but the restrictions are expected to last many months.
Beemster Mild Gouda gets a nice spicy kick from hatch chili peppers. Up front, you get the sweet and creamy flavours of the cheese, but an assertive heat from the hatch peppers gradually blooms a few seconds later. It's a perfectly balance that leaves you mouth with a pleasant hum.
Great for snacking and in Tex-Mex dishes. Pairs great with zingy white wines and citrusy beers.
Limited availability as this spicy treat is only made seasonally.
Pasteurized.
Sold in ~200 g or ~300 g wedges. (Note: product photos are not intended to depict any particular size wedge.)
This is a very tastey cheese with a bit of spice. Looking forward to the next season of this cheese
