Canada has banned many unpasteurized cow and buffalo milk cheeses from Switzerland, France, Spain, Greece & Italy, due to a cattle-disease outbreak.
This affects the availability of favourites including Brie de Meaux, Morbier, Tomme de Savoie, Vacherin Mont d'Or, and Tête de Moine.
We'll bring back these cheeses the moment we can, but the restrictions are expected to last many months.
Butter made by the famous COWS Creamery in Prince Edward Island.
The cultured butter is truly something special. It boasts an ultra-rich 84% butter fat content where most butters top out at just 80% B.F. The slight fermentation from the culturing imparts a slight tang that balances out the rich taste. Finally, the addition of sea salt adds a pleasant finishing dimension.
I hope they have this butter in heaven.
those two words summarize my experience with this fantastic fat.
I’ve only tried a very little bit, but it was wildly flavourful. I feel like it would be incredible on some toasted malt bread, and I will hopefully be trying that tomorrow.
