Canada has banned many unpasteurized cow and buffalo milk cheeses from Switzerland, France, Spain, Greece & Italy, due to a cattle-disease outbreak.
This affects the availability of favourites including Brie de Meaux, Morbier, Tomme de Savoie, Vacherin Mont d'Or, and Tête de Moine.
We'll bring back these cheeses the moment we can, but the restrictions are expected to last many months.
We originally brought in this extraordinary cheese for our Ultimate Cheese Subscription. But it quickly became a staff favourite and we had to add this outstanding Gouda to our regular line up.
Lutjewinkel 1916 is an intensely flavourful and creamy Gouda from North Holland. While the wheels are not actually 114 years old, you can taste the craftsmanship that comes from more than a century of making this fine cheese.
Sold in 200 g or 300 g wedges. (Note: product photos are not intended to depict any particular size wedge.)
