Canada has banned many unpasteurized cow and buffalo milk cheeses from Switzerland, France, Spain, Greece & Italy, due to a cattle-disease outbreak.
This affects the availability of favourites including Brie de Meaux, Morbier, Tomme de Savoie, Vacherin Mont d'Or, and Tête de Moine.
We'll bring back these cheeses the moment we can, but the restrictions are expected to last many months.

I tried it side by side with the St. Agur you can get pre-packaged in the little plastic container from the grocery store (which was about the same price). Tomme's St. Agur was distinctively more pleasant. The grocery store cheese was more acidic and piquant. In contrast, Tomme's was subtler and fruitier, almost like vanilla ice cream - I presume because of superior freshness, handling and storage, and the close monitoring of a clean and cheese-friendly environment by Tomme staff. Totally spreadable, almost pudding-like at room temperature. From the frig, the texture of whipped butter. Moderately strong pennicilum flavours in perfect harmony with fruity, yeasty, and floral notes - a natural match with wine.
This is one of the best Blue cheeses I have tried. Very creamy with a little zing to it. Not too strong.
Lovely mild Blue Cheese with a soft almost Brie like feel.
Excellent for those that think they don’t like Blue.
